I want to tell you about my thought and way about Samurai and the modern Samurai.
We cannot carry swords all the time like Samurais once did, but carrying these weapons never meant one was a Samurai. These days, more than ever, being a Samurai is more of a mental concept.
The way of Samurai is the way of a perfect person, one who is kind, strong, respectable, honorable, and good at everyhing, not just martial arts. Such a person needs strong self-control and patience at all the times.
The Samurai spirit is not just Japanese concept; you can also find Samurai ideals from many action hero movies.
Here is one Samurai concept from an old Samurai book, (The Book of The Five Rings), written by the legenday Samurai, Miyamoto Musashi, who won over 60 real sword fights about 500years ago, the book says:
- Normal people like salesmen, musicians, carpenders, farmers, even women are all doing their best to build their lives, even risking their lives to do so. Thus if you are Samurai, risking your life is not enough. Before risking your life, you should improve your ability with the sword.-

Stabbing himself to death for lord's honor = Samurai?
No, suicide is not always the way of Samurai. This is a misunderstanding about the way of Samurai. There are many Samurais who did not commit suicide to show royalty to their lord.
Nowadays, there is no need for you to give your respect or royalty to your king or president, unless you are a soudier or government officials,  hiowever we, motern Samurai, should keep the order of this society and seek honors all the time. It is very hard some time, but the difficluty is that we have to cut with our metal swords; Strong will, self-control and patiend.
